The Benefit Bank

The Benefit Bank® (TBB™) is a service for low- and moderate income individuals and families to increase their incomes dramatically. It is a web-based program that simplifies the process of applying for many state and federal benefits. The Benefit Bank is a tool to aid individuals and families overcome the debilitating effects of poverty and assist them in building sustainable economic futures.

Billions of dollars in public funds go untouched each year because applying for state and federal benefits such as food stamps and Medicaid is time consuming, confusing and stigmatized. Additional billions in tax credits are also left unclaimed out of lack of knowledge and fear of audit. The Benefit Bank removes these obstacles – placing more income in the pockets of those who need it the most.

The Benefit Bank is the only system available that can process federal and state tax returns, as well as a range of federal and public sponsored health and social service benefits – such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, and LIHEAP.

Working Towards Prosperity by Fighting Poverty

Designed as a counselor-assisted system, TBB clients sit with counselors who assist them with entering information into the program. As clients provide information for one benefit, it is saved for use with another form or benefit, eliminating the need to type it in again. For example, once a client enters his or her household information, the system reuses it for all benefit applications and tax filings.
